Wangsa Maju is a township in the northeast of Kuala Lumpur, developed from the 1980s onward as a planned residential district. On a map it is organised into numbered sections, each a tidy cluster of terraced houses, flats and small commercial streets connected by looping roads. Major highways run along its edges, and the forested slopes of the Titiwangsa Range rise not far to the east.
The area is known for its good connections to the rest of the city. The Kelana Jaya LRT line has a station at Wangsa Maju, and the Middle Ring Road 2 passes nearby. Shopping centres, schools and colleges have made it one of the more self-sufficient neighbourhoods in the capital, popular with families and students alike.
A Wangsa Maju map poster shows modern Malaysian suburban planning at a readable scale. Section boundaries appear clearly, curving access roads loop through the residential clusters, and green patches mark parks and hill slopes. It is a practical, well-ordered map, and for residents each section is a familiar name rather than just a number.
The township is divided into sections, each with its own pattern of residential streets, which gives the map a clear and orderly modular structure.
Large roads and interchanges border the district, drawn as bold curves that separate Wangsa Maju from neighbouring areas such as Setapak and Gombak.
The elevated rail line crosses the area and stops at Wangsa Maju station, a straight line on the map that links the township directly to central Kuala Lumpur.
