Straight rural roads
With almost no relief to work around, roads extend in long straight runs, giving the poster strong directional lines that lead the eye toward the town centre.

De kaart
Anxiang Map Poster & Print
Anxiang lies on the North China Plain, one of the flattest and most intensively farmed landscapes in the country. Seen from above, the terrain barely registers at all: there are no ridges or valleys to bend the roads, so routes run long and straight, and settlements sit on the land as compact clusters surrounded by fields.
That flatness gives the map a particular kind of order. Field boundaries, irrigation lines and country roads form a patchwork of rectangles, while the town itself shows up as a denser knot where roads meet. The contrast between the fine grain of the built area and the broad geometry of the farmland defines the composition.
An Anxiang map poster is a quiet image, built from straight lines and repetition rather than dramatic landmarks. In black and white, the town reads almost like a technical drawing of the plain, a record of how people have organised a level, productive landscape over many generations.

Field patchwork
Around the built-up area, farm plots and their boundaries form a regular geometric pattern that fills the outer parts of the map with a calm texture.
Compact settlement
The town appears as a concentrated cluster of streets, clearly set apart from the open farmland that surrounds it on every side.
