Capivari de Baixo Map Poster & Print
Capivari de Baixo lies on the low plain of southern Santa Catarina, next to Tubarão and not far from the Atlantic coast. The land is flat and crossed by rivers and drainage channels, with rice fields and meadows around the built-up area. The town itself is a compact grid of streets on the edge of the floodplain.
The town is best known for the Jorge Lacerda thermoelectric complex, a coal-fired power station that has long been one of the main industrial sites in the region. It depends on the coal-mining area further inland. On a map, the plant's large site stands out clearly from the surrounding residential streets.
A Capivari de Baixo map poster combines the tidy town grid, the winding rivers and the large industrial complex. The flat land lets the waterways stand out as clear, sweeping curves. It suits people who live and work here, including families linked to the power station and the wider Tubarão area.
