North-flowing rivers
The Wei River and several smaller channels cross the plain toward Laizhou Bay. Their long, nearly parallel courses give the whole map a clear sense of direction.

Changyi Map Poster & Print
Changyi is a county-level city under Weifang in Shandong Province, spread across the coastal plain south of Laizhou Bay. The land here is almost entirely flat, and the map shows it. Long straight roads divide the urban area into large, even blocks, and the same geometry extends outward into farmland, villages and drainage channels that run in parallel lines toward the sea.
The Wei River flows through Changyi on its way north to the bay, and smaller rivers and canals cross the plain in the same direction, giving the map a strong north-south grain. The built-up centre is compact, and its edges fade gradually into fields rather than stopping at a ring road or a natural barrier such as a range of hills.
Toward the coast, the pattern changes again, with salt pans, aquaculture ponds and wetlands forming rectangular shapes along the edge of Laizhou Bay. It is quieter ground than the larger cities of Shandong, and its clarity is part of its appeal. A Changyi map poster shows the grid of the plain and the long lines of water in calm, measured detail.

Even urban grid
Wide roads divide the centre into large, regular blocks. Seen from above, the city has a tidy, almost diagrammatic quality that suits a minimalist print well.
Laizhou Bay shore
Along the coast, salt pans, ponds and wetlands form rectangular patterns that meet the sea. This edge gives the northern part of the map a distinctive texture.
