Port basins
The harbour's docks, quays and protective breakwaters form bold rectilinear shapes projecting into the sea, the most graphic element on the poster.

El Grao Map Poster & Print
El Grao, or El Grau, is the maritime district of Castellón de la Plana on Spain's eastern coast. It sits a few kilometres from the city centre, where the land meets the Mediterranean. On a map, the rectangular basins of the port and the long arms of the breakwaters give it strong geometry. The coastline runs north as a clean, nearly straight edge.
One unusual detail makes the district stand out: the Greenwich meridian passes very close by, so El Grao sits almost exactly at zero degrees longitude. The coordinates line on the poster makes that easy to show. Inland from the beach, the Pinar del Grao, a large pine park, appears as a broad open patch among the streets.
An El Grao map poster brings together the hard engineering of the harbour and the softer forms of the beachfront and park. The sea stays as clean empty space, and the design draws all its tension from the edge where streets, docks and sand meet.

Beachfront edge
North of the port, the shoreline runs as a long, clean line backed by a promenade and residential streets, framing the empty expanse of the Mediterranean.
Pine park
The Pinar del Grao, a wide pine park near the coast, shows up as a large calm area within the street pattern, a natural pause in the composition.

Waarom El Grao
Een kaart met betekenis
Summer residents, sailors and anyone from Castellón will recognise the harbour and beach at once. The near-zero longitude is a small point of pride worth printing, and it makes the map a subtle conversation piece in a coastal home.
Edit the title, subtitle and coordinates to suit you, and choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the port geometry especially well. Files come as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF in six sizes.
