Flórina Map Poster & Print
Flórina is the capital of its regional unit in West Macedonia, close to Greece's border with North Macedonia. The town sits at the foot of forested mountains, where a valley opens onto a wide agricultural plain. A small river, the Sakoulevas, runs through the centre, and the streets on either side follow its course before climbing gently toward the slopes on the western edge.
The name is known across Greece for Florina peppers, long sweet red peppers grown on the surrounding plain and protected as a regional product. The town has a university presence and a cooler, continental climate than most of Greece. The lakes of Prespa lie a short drive to the west, across the mountains, in the same regional unit.
A Flórina map poster captures the point where mountain meets farmland. Tight streets gather along the river, the terrain rises on one side and the grid loosens on the other as the town gives way to fields. The composition is calm and balanced, much like the town itself, and suits people with family ties to the north.

Mountain edge
Forested slopes rise directly behind the western districts. The streets end quickly against the terrain, so the town has a distinct, sheltered outline.
Pepper-growing plain
To the east, the land flattens into the fields where Florina's well-known red peppers are grown, and the pattern of streets thins into farm roads.
