De kaart
Gangtou Map Poster & Print
Gangtou lies in the north of Jiangsu Province, on the broad alluvial plain that covers this part of eastern China. The land is almost completely flat, and from above the town has a clear, regular structure. The main roads meet at right angles and divide the built-up area into rectangular blocks of housing, workshops and shops.
Water is everywhere on the map. Canals, drainage ditches and ponds criss-cross the countryside, many of them dead straight, forming a grid that mirrors the roads. This part of Jiangsu lies in the wider region crossed by the Grand Canal, and waterways have long shaped how the land is used. A Gangtou map poster makes that pattern of fields and channels its main subject.
Villages sit around the town in small, tight clusters, linked by narrow lanes that run along the field boundaries. The landscape looks carefully managed, with very little left to chance. On paper that precision becomes a quiet, geometric design, well suited to the minimal black-and-white style of these maps.

Waarom Gangtou
Een kaart met betekenis
A Gangtou poster lets you hang your hometown on the wall, which matters especially to people who have moved to larger cities. You can customise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or an important date, and adjust the coordinates line.
Blueprint suits the geometric roads and channels, Noir turns them into a striking negative, and Classic black & white, Paper and Sand give a softer look. Check the free 900 px preview first, then download six sizes or order a print.
