Coastal plain grid
The town and its surroundings are almost perfectly flat, so roads run in long straight lines and the urban blocks are large and regular.

Hede Map Poster & Print
Hede is the seat of Sheyang County in the city of Yancheng, Jiangsu. The county lies on the broad coastal plain of northern Jiangsu, land that has been gradually built up and reclaimed near the Yellow Sea. On the map, this flatness is the defining feature: roads run long and straight, and the town expands in large, orderly blocks with few natural obstacles to bend them.
Rivers and man-made channels cross the plain, most of them running towards the coast. Around the town they divide the farmland into long, narrow strips, and their parallel lines give the landscape a combed, almost textile look when seen from above. Within Hede itself, waterways cut through the grid and are crossed by short bridges that the map picks out clearly.
A Hede map poster turns this geometry into a strong graphic. There are no mountains to fill the frame, so the design relies on rhythm: the repetition of roads, the thin lines of channels and the gradual thinning of streets toward the fields. It is a modest subject, but one that looks deliberate and calm on a wall.

Parallel waterways
Rivers and drainage channels cross the county towards the sea, splitting the farmland into long strips that form a distinctive striped pattern.
Bridges and crossings
Where waterways pass through the town, short bridges link the blocks on either side, visible as small breaks in the lines of the map.
