Planned grid
The city is built on a straight, regular street plan with wide blocks, a layout that reads almost like a drafting exercise when printed in fine black line.

Huyanghe Map Poster & Print
Huyanghe is a county-level city in northern Xinjiang, administered by the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and established as a city in 2019. It sits north of the Tianshan range, on the flat edge of the Junggar Basin, and the map makes its planned origins obvious: long straight roads, rectangular blocks and a clearly defined centre.
Around the town the land is divided into large irrigated fields, laid out in regular rectangles and separated by canals, farm roads and lines of trees. The name refers to the desert poplar, known in Chinese as huyang, a tree that grows along rivers in the arid parts of Xinjiang. Water channels that keep the fields green appear as fine straight lines.
Compared with older cities in the region, Huyanghe has an unusually clean geometry, the result of recent planning on open ground. A Huyanghe map poster presents that order in black line work, with the city grid and the surrounding field pattern forming a single, balanced composition from edge to edge of the sheet.

Irrigated fields
Farmland surrounds the city in large rectangles divided by canals and farm roads, a repeating pattern that extends to every edge of the map.
Tianshan foreland
The city sits on the gentle plain at the foot of the Tianshan, where mountain water feeds the fields and the land slopes almost imperceptibly toward the basin.

Waarom Huyanghe
Een kaart met betekenis
Huyanghe is a city many people have helped build or chosen as a new home, and its young, orderly plan reflects that. A map poster makes a clear record of the city as it stands today, in its first years.
Add a title, a subtitle or a date of arrival, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, with Blueprint suiting the city's planned geometry especially well, and download the HD files or order a matte print.
