Jequitinhonha River
The river curves through the frame as the map's largest feature. The town's streets sit close to its banks, and the water separates one side of town from the other.

Jequitinhonha Map Poster & Print
Jequitinhonha is a town in the northeast of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It shares its name with the river it stands on and with the whole valley around it. The river is the central element of the map. It follows a broad, winding course, and the town's streets line its banks and climb the nearby slopes.
The Jequitinhonha valley is one of the drier and more remote parts of Minas Gerais, a region of hills, farms and small towns along the river and its tributaries. Roads follow the valley and the ridges. Beyond the town, the map becomes a sparse set of lines across rural land.
The valley is widely known in Brazil for its craft traditions, especially the clay figures and ceramics that local artisans make and sell across the country. A Jequitinhonha map poster places the town at the heart of that region. The river here shaped both the settlement and the name of an entire landscape.

Valley slopes
Streets climb away from the river onto the higher ground around it, so the town has an uneven outline shaped by the valley.
Rural road network
Beyond town, a sparse web of roads and tracks follows the ridges and valley floors, linking the town to the scattered communities of the region.

Waarom Jequitinhonha
Een kaart met betekenis
Jequitinhonha maps are chosen by people from the valley who now live in Belo Horizonte, São Paulo or further away, and by collectors who admire the region's artisans. The river gives the poster a natural, flowing shape.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates line of your choice, such as a family name or a date. Pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
