Fine lane network
Narrow residential lanes, many of them only a car wide, make up most of the map and produce a detailed, almost textile pattern across the sheet.

Kamizawa Map Poster & Print
Kamizawa lies in eastern Shizuoka Prefecture, in the lowland near the neck of the Izu Peninsula, where the land between the Hakone hills and the coast narrows. The district is typical of Japanese towns in this area: small blocks, lanes of uneven width and houses packed closely together, with farmland and wooded slopes never far away.
On a map, this makes for fine, dense linework rather than a bold geometric pattern. Streets bend to follow older field boundaries and the lie of the land, and the heavier lines of roads and railways cut through the fabric on their way between Tokyo, Numazu and the Izu resorts. Green, hilly ground shows up as open areas at the edges.
A Kamizawa map poster shows that fine grain at its best. The lanes form an intricate texture that rewards a closer look, while the larger transport lines give the composition structure. It is a good fit for anyone who lived in the Mishima and Numazu area, where Mount Fuji dominates the northern skyline on clear days.

Transport corridors
Wider roads and rail lines crossing the area give the poster strong, straight strokes that anchor the smaller streets around them.
Hill edges
Where the land rises toward wooded slopes, the street pattern thins and breaks off, leaving open space that frames the built-up area.

Waarom Kamizawa
Een kaart met betekenis
Kamizawa is the kind of place people remember for daily life: the walk to the station, the local shop, the view of Fuji on winter mornings. A map of its lanes brings that routine back in a form that sits well on a wall.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle in any language, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Paper and Noir both suit the fine Japanese street pattern.
