La Solana Map Poster & Print
La Solana is in the province of Ciudad Real, on the wide, level plains of La Mancha. The town forms a dense, rounded mass of low whitewashed houses. From above, streets lead in from every direction toward the Plaza Mayor and the church of Santa Catalina at the centre. Beyond the last houses the land opens into vineyards, cereal fields and olive groves.
The town has a particular place in Spanish musical theatre. The zarzuela La rosa del azafrán by Jacinto Guerrero is set in La Solana, and the saffron harvest it portrays was once a familiar part of local life. Agriculture still defines the landscape around the town, which is divided into long, narrow plots reaching toward the horizon.
A La Solana map poster shows a town with a strong centre and clear edges. The streets converge on the square, and the rural roads fan outward across a plain marked mostly by field boundaries. In monochrome, the contrast between the dense town and the open land gives the print a calm, balanced character.

Rounded town edge
The built-up area forms a compact, roughly circular shape. The houses stop abruptly and the open fields begin, which creates a clean outline on the page.
Field strips
Long agricultural plots radiate across the plain, separated by straight tracks. They fill the outer map with fine lines that echo the flat Manchegan landscape.

Waarom La Solana
Een kaart met betekenis
La Solana is a town people stay loyal to, whether they left for Madrid or never left at all. A map of its streets and plain captures the quiet, open landscape of La Mancha and the square where local life gathers.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, perhaps with a family name or a line from the zarzuela. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand to finish it.
