Lishu Map Poster & Print
Lishu is a county in Siping, in western Jilin Province. It lies on the Songliao plain, one of the main grain-growing regions of north-east China, where maize and other crops cover the land for long distances in every direction. The county seat is the urban centre on the map, and it acts as a market and administrative hub for the farming villages around it.
The terrain is almost completely flat, so the town has a planned, regular form: straight main roads, rectangular blocks and newer districts added on its edges. Outside the built-up area, the map turns into a pattern of field roads and scattered villages, with rows of trees marking field boundaries.
A Lishu map poster shows this spread of right angles in fine black lines. There is little to interrupt it, which makes the result calm and orderly, a clear picture of a town that grew out of the plain.

Waarom Lishu
Een kaart met betekenis
If your family comes from Lishu, or you grew up in the villages around it, this poster shows the place as a whole. The regular pattern gives it a quiet, almost architectural look that suits modern rooms.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with Chinese characters or a year, and adjust the coordinates line. Blueprint emphasises the planned grid, while Paper and Sand bring out the farmland around it.
