Compact town core
The centre forms a tight cluster of short blocks and crossing streets. At poster scale it reads as a dense, dark shape against the lighter land around it, which gives the composition a clear focal point.

De kaart
Mairi Map Poster & Print
Mairi lies in the interior of Bahia, in the dry sertão country well away from the Atlantic coast. On a map the town appears as a compact knot of streets surrounded by open land, with rural roads fanning out across the municipality toward farms and smaller settlements. No coastline or large river organises the plan, so the street pattern itself carries the whole composition.
At the centre, blocks sit close together around the older core, then loosen at the edges into longer plots and unpaved tracks. In black and white, the contrast between the dense middle and the sparse surroundings becomes the main subject. It is a small inland town drawn with the same care as a capital, and every lane and turning stays legible.
A Mairi map poster suits people who grew up here, families who moved to larger cities but keep their ties to the interior, and anyone with a personal connection to this part of Bahia. The municipality has around eighteen thousand residents, and the map shows that scale honestly. On the wall it looks modest, orderly and quiet, much like the place itself.

Roads into the interior
Rural roads leave the town in several directions and link it to farms and neighbouring communities. On the map they appear as thin lines running across open ground, tying the settlement to the wider sertão.
Open semi-arid land
Around the urban area the map is mostly empty space, which reflects the dry, lightly settled landscape of inland Bahia. That negative space gives the poster room to breathe and frames the town cleanly.

Waarom Mairi
Een kaart met betekenis
People hang a map of Mairi to keep a hometown close, to mark where a family comes from, or to remember years spent in the Bahian interior. Small towns rarely get their own printed maps, so seeing these streets drawn in full means a lot to the people who know them.
You can set your own title, add a subtitle such as a family name or a date, and edit the coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files cost $9, or you can order a printed poster, framed or unframed.
