Manus Island Map Poster & Print
Manus Island is the largest of the Admiralty Islands in the Bismarck Sea, north of mainland Papua New Guinea. From above it is a broad, elongated island of forested hills, fringed by reefs and smaller islands along much of its coast. Roads are limited and run mainly along the shore, so the map reads as a strong outline with a sparse network traced around its edges.
Near the eastern end, the small town of Lorengau is the provincial capital, and a bridge leads across to Los Negros Island, where the airport stands. Together the islands enclose Seeadler Harbour, a large natural anchorage that became a major Allied naval base in the Second World War. Its broad, sheltered basin is one of the most distinctive shapes on the map.
A Manus Island map poster places the main island, Los Negros and the harbour within a ring of reefs and islets. The contrast between the island's solid mass and the lacework of small islands around it gives the design depth. It is a considered choice for people from Manus Province and for those whose family history passes through the island's wartime years.

Lorengau and Los Negros
The provincial capital sits toward the island's eastern end, where a bridge crosses to Los Negros and the airport, forming the busiest cluster of lines on the map.
Reef-fringed coast
Reefs and small islands trace much of the shoreline, adding fine, scattered outlines around the island's otherwise solid, forested mass.

Waarom Manus Island
Een kaart met betekenis
Manus matters to people from the province and its diaspora, to veterans' families, and to those who have worked there. A map of the island is a way to keep its shape and its harbour close without reducing the place to a single chapter of its history.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, perhaps with a village, a family name or a date. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, depending on whether you want a crisp or a softer finish.
