The river winds through the lowlands beside the town. Its soft, meandering line contrasts with the straighter roads of the centre.

Rantauprapat Map Poster & Print
Rantauprapat is the main town of Labuhanbatu Regency on the eastern lowlands of North Sumatra. The Bilah River winds past the town. From above, the settlement appears as a band of streets following the water and the main highway. Markets and offices sit near the centre, and residential lanes branch off on either side.
The surrounding land is flat and largely planted with oil palm and rubber. On a map these plantations appear as regular blocks of estate roads stretching away from the town. Rantauprapat serves as a service and trading centre for this plantation country. It is also a stop on the long road between Medan and the provinces further south.
A Rantauprapat map poster is a study in two kinds of order. The river and the older town follow organic curves, while the estates beyond are drawn in ruled lines. It will mean most to those who grew up in Labuhanbatu or keep family ties there, wherever they now live.
