Takasago Map Poster & Print
Takasago faces the Harima Sea, part of the Seto Inland Sea, in the south of Hyōgo Prefecture between Kakogawa and Himeji. From above, the city has two distinct characters. Along the shore are straight-edged reclaimed land, docks and large industrial plots. Inland is a finer network of residential streets and older neighbourhoods. The Kakogawa River forms its eastern edge as it reaches the sea.
The city's name is known across Japan through Takasago, a classic Noh play in which the spirits of a pair of pine trees symbolise a long and faithful marriage. Verses from it have traditionally been recited at weddings, and Takasago Shrine, with its paired Aioi pine, is associated with the story.
A Takasago map poster balances these two sides: the geometric harbour front, with its rectangular piers and channels, and the more intricate grid of streets behind it. The river and the Inland Sea add long, calm edges to the composition, so the finished print feels both technical and quietly elegant.

Kakogawa River
The river runs down to the sea along the city's eastern side, drawing a wide, steady line that separates Takasago from neighbouring Kakogawa.
Older inland streets
Behind the industrial coast, residential neighbourhoods and older streets form a finer, denser network, including the area around Takasago Shrine.
