Planned grid
The central streets follow a consistent right-angled layout, so blocks line up almost perfectly from one side of the town to the other, a pattern typical of northern Paraná's planned towns.

De kaart
Umuarama Map Poster & Print
Umuarama was founded in the mid-1950s as part of the organised settlement of northern Paraná, and it was planned before it was built. On a map this is obvious straight away: a regular grid of square blocks, broad avenues through the centre and a clear hierarchy of main roads and residential streets, all set among gently rolling farmland.
The land around the town is gently undulating. Streams draining it cut shallow green valleys into the outer neighbourhoods and bend the grid wherever the ground falls away. Parks and reserves fill these breaks, and they give an Umuarama map poster its softer edges against the strict rectangles of the core.
Beyond the last blocks, roads fan out toward neighbouring towns across crops and pasture, the economic base of the region. The name is usually explained as coming from Tupi, meaning a place where friends meet. That suits a town built as a regional centre for the farms around it.

Lake park
A municipal park built around a lake lies close to the centre, a green shape with open water that stands out clearly against the tight blocks around it.
Stream valleys
Small streams form winding green corridors through the outer districts, where the street pattern bends and gives way to vegetation before the grid picks up again.
