Wansheng Map Poster & Print
Wansheng lies in the hills of southern Chongqing, near the border with Guizhou. The terrain is steep and folded, and on a map the town follows the valley floor, with streets running along narrow strips of flat land between ridges. Roads curve and switch back up the slopes, and the built-up area thins quickly as the land rises.
The town's shape is long and uneven, following the valleys instead of spreading evenly. Newer districts have been built wherever the ground allows, creating separate clusters connected by winding roads. Around them, the countryside is a mix of forested slopes, terraced fields and small villages.
Wansheng has a long history of coal mining, and the area is also known for the karst landscape of the Wansheng Stone Forest. Today it is administered as part of Qijiang District. A Wansheng map poster shows a town shaped almost entirely by its mountains, with streets drawn by the land itself.
