De kaart
Xinhe Map Poster & Print
Xinhe is a town in northern Jiangsu Province, in the countryside of the Xuzhou area, on the level plain of the Huai River basin. Here the landscape is shaped more by people than by relief. Fields, drainage ditches and roads divide the ground into a precise mosaic, and the town appears within it as a denser block of streets and buildings.
Water management matters greatly on this plain, where channels have been dug and straightened over generations to drain the land and irrigate crops. The town is a local centre for the surrounding villages, with markets, schools and services along its main streets.
A Xinhe map poster shows how a small town sits within a planned farming landscape. The streets are straight and practical, the built area has clear edges, and the countryside adds a pattern of long parallel lines. It is a spare, graphic composition that looks especially striking in Blueprint or Noir.

Village network
Villages are scattered across the plain around the town. Each appears on the map as a small cluster linked to Xinhe by straight rural roads.
Water lines
Canals and drainage ditches cut straight across the land. They add fine lines that frame the town and echo the order of the fields.
