Yichun Map Poster & Print
Yichun in northern Heilongjiang is surrounded by the Lesser Khingan mountains, and the landscape sets its shape. The town was built along a river valley, so the map shows a long, narrow belt of streets. Wooded slopes close in on both sides. Roads and blocks bend with the water rather than following a strict grid.
The city grew around forestry, and it is widely known as one of China's forest cities. On a map the forest itself shows as empty space. It surrounds the built-up area and presses in wherever the valley narrows. Bridges cross the river at intervals, joining the two banks.
A Yichun map poster is mostly about a line: a river, with a town laid along it and hills rising behind. In black and white, the curves of the valley roads and the thin edges of the settlement stand out. The result is a quiet, directional composition, very different from the dense plains cities further south.

Forest edge
Built-up blocks end suddenly where the wooded hills begin. On paper, the town looks like a thin ribbon inside a large open field.
River crossings
Bridges link the two banks at intervals. They add short cross-strokes to an otherwise long composition, and they are easy to trace on the map.

Waarom Yichun
Een kaart met betekenis
Yichun's shape tells you about its setting at a glance, which makes it a good map for anyone who grew up among these northern forests. The title, subtitle and coordinates line are all editable, so you can add a family name, a year or a street.
The Paper and Sand styles give the valley a warm, printed look. Noir makes the narrow ribbon of streets glow against the dark hills. Digital files cost $9, with no watermark, and a free 900 px preview lets you check the framing first.
