Al Līth lies on the Red Sea coast of the Mecca Region, south of Jeddah, on the Tihamah, the hot, flat coastal plain that runs between the mountains and the sea. A wadi of the same name crosses the plain toward the sea, and after rare rains it carries water down from the highlands.
