Baq‘ā’ is a town in the Ha'il Region of northern Saudi Arabia, north-east of the city of Ha'il. It lies in desert country where settlement has long depended on groundwater and agriculture. From above, the town reads as a clearly bounded grid of streets and blocks set on the plain, with irrigated fields and farm compounds scattered around it.
The street pattern is largely modern. Straight roads and regular blocks are organised around main avenues and roundabouts, with mosques and public buildings along them. Beyond the edge of town the lines thin out sharply. Farm plots appear as geometric patches, and long highways run straight across the desert toward Ha'il and other towns in the region.
