Bījāpur is the headquarters of Bijapur district in the south of Chhattisgarh, in the Bastar region of central India. It should not be confused with the historic city of the same name in Karnataka. The town is small, and on the map it appears as a modest cluster of streets surrounded by forest, with a few main roads extending outward.
