Cheektowaga is a large town in Erie County, directly east of the city of Buffalo in western New York. From above it looks like the city simply carried on: blocks of houses on straight streets reach out from the Buffalo border, then give way to wider, curving suburban roads further east. The overall effect is a close, even pattern covering nearly the whole frame.
Major roads cut across that pattern. The New York State Thruway and the Kensington Expressway both pass through the town, and broad arterials such as Union Road and Harlem Road run north-south between neighbourhoods. Buffalo Niagara International Airport sits within Cheektowaga, and its runways form the largest clean shapes on the map. The Walden Galleria, the region's biggest shopping mall, is also here, near the Thruway.

Expressway lines
The Thruway and the Kensington Expressway sweep through Cheektowaga with long, smooth curves and interchanges, cutting cleanly across the finer grid of residential streets.
