Euclid stretches along the southern shore of Lake Erie, northeast of Cleveland. The map is organised in bands parallel to the lake. At the northern edge the shoreline is straight, and behind it come residential streets, then the lines of the railway and Interstate 90, then industrial areas and more neighbourhoods rising towards the old ridge. Euclid Creek cuts diagonally through the west side in a wooded valley.
The city gave its name to one of the most influential cases in American planning law. In Village of Euclid v. Ambler Realty Co. in 1926, the US Supreme Court upheld local zoning, and the separation of land uses it allowed is still often called Euclidean zoning. Euclid also has a long industrial history linked to the Cleveland region.

The creek runs through a wooded valley on the western side. It is the main natural curve across the street grid.
