Felgueiras lies in the district of Porto, in the rolling green country of the Tâmega region. Seen from above, it is not a single compact city but a network: a modest urban centre linked by winding roads to many surrounding parishes, with houses strung along ridges and valleys and small fields and vineyards filling the gaps between them.
