Gazipaşa lies on the Mediterranean coast of Antalya province, east of Alanya, where the Taurus Mountains come close to the sea. From above, the town sits on a narrow coastal plain: a strip of streets and farmland between the shoreline and the rising hills, with the coast road running through it.
The flat land around the town is used intensively, and many greenhouses, some growing bananas, leave rows of rectangular shapes on the map. Gazipaşa–Alanya Airport lies near the shore, and its runway is one of the clearest lines in the area. Nearby are the remains of ancient Selinus, where the Roman emperor Trajan died in AD 117.
