Karāla is a settlement in the North West district of Delhi, close to the outer edge of the capital. From above, it has the shape of many old villages around the city. A dense, irregular core of narrow lanes sits in the middle, and newer houses and wider roads have grown outward from it. Farmland and open plots still show up at the margins.
