Kasozi lies in Uganda's Western Region, at a latitude so close to zero that the equator passes almost through the town. The western part of the country is a landscape of hills, valleys and cultivated slopes. The map of Kasozi reflects that setting: roads curve with the ground, and homes spread out along them instead of gathering into a tight block.
Like many towns in the region, Kasozi has an informal plan, not a grid. A denser trading area forms where the main routes meet, and from there lanes and footpaths spread outward into gardens and farm plots.
