Kestel lies on the Mediterranean coast in the Alanya area of Antalya Province, and from above it is long and thin. A strip of beach runs along one edge. The main coastal road runs parallel to it a short distance inland, and the built-up area fills the narrow band between the sea and the rising slopes of the Taurus foothills.
That constraint gives the map a clear structure. Short streets run between the shore and the highway, blocks of hotels and apartments sit close to the water, and above the town the road pattern breaks into winding lanes as the ground climbs. The sea takes up a large, clean area of the frame.
