Khekra lies in the Baghpat district of western Uttar Pradesh, north of Delhi, on the level land east of the Yamuna. On a map the town appears as a tightly packed core of narrow lanes, the kind of irregular pattern that grows over generations, surrounded by newer streets and then by the wide agricultural plain.
The Yamuna runs a short distance to the west, and the land between the river and the town is largely farmland, crossed by tracks and small waterways. Roads connect Khekra with Baghpat and with the Delhi region to the south, and these routes give the map its main directional lines through otherwise open country.
