Kiomboi is the administrative centre of Iramba district in the Singida region of central Tanzania. It sits on the high, open plateau of the country's interior, a landscape of farmland, grazing land and scattered rocky outcrops. From above, the town is a small cluster of streets, with houses and plots spreading out loosely along the roads.
As a district centre, Kiomboi gathers government offices, schools, markets and a hospital that serves the surrounding area.
