Kulachi is a town in Dera Ismail Khan District in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, west of the Indus. From above, it is a compact settlement of close-packed lanes on open, largely flat land. Irrigation channels and field boundaries surround it, and roads lead out across the plain toward the mountains on the western horizon.
The town serves as the centre of a tehsil of the same name and as a market for the farming villages around it. The land between the Indus and the Sulaiman range is dry, so water channels matter here. On the map, they appear as thin lines running through the fields.
