Mahmutlar stretches along the Mediterranean coast east of Alanya, in Antalya province. On a map it is a long, narrow strip. The coastal highway runs parallel to the sea, dense blocks of apartment buildings fill the land on both sides, and the ground rises quickly behind them into the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. The beach draws a continuous line along the southern edge.
Once a small village, Mahmutlar grew rapidly as a resort and residential area and became home to a large community of foreign residents. The street pattern reflects that growth. Short parallel streets run down to the shore between the blocks, and newer developments climb the slopes where space allows.

Coastal highway
The main coastal road runs parallel to the beach through the whole town. It forms the strongest line on the map, linking Mahmutlar to Alanya.
Taurus foothills
Behind the town the ground climbs into the foothills of the Taurus range. Roads switch back up the slopes, softening the northern edge of the map.
