Rāmshīr lies in Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran, on the broad, low alluvial plain that stretches toward the Persian Gulf. On a map, the town is a compact block of streets set in wide, level country. There is almost no relief, and the lines of roads and water are free to run long and straight.
The street pattern is largely regular, with main roads crossing the centre and residential blocks filling the spaces between them.
