Resubelpara is the headquarters of North Garo Hills district in western Meghalaya. The town lies in the lower, rolling part of the Garo Hills, where forested slopes meet cultivated valleys. It is not a gridded town. The roads follow the terrain, curving along ridgelines and dropping into hollows, and the buildings gather wherever the ground allows.
The map shows a settlement shaped by topography. There is a central cluster of offices, markets and homes, with roads leading out towards other parts of the district and on towards the plains of Assam to the north. Streams and small watercourses run through the surrounding land, and the pattern of settlement gets sparser as the hills close in.
