Saḩāb lies on the plateau southeast of Amman, where the city's outer suburbs thin out toward the desert. On a map it has two distinct characters. There is an older residential core with winding, closely packed streets on uneven ground. Next to it is a large planned industrial zone laid out in long, straight blocks, with wide service roads between warehouses and factories.
The town is home to one of Jordan's main industrial estates, named after King Abdullah II. It is a major employment centre for the capital region. The area is also old. Tell Sahab, an archaeological mound near the town, has produced finds from the Bronze and Iron Ages, which is a reminder that people settled on this edge of the plateau long before the factories arrived.

The residential centre follows the terrain, with curving lanes and small irregular blocks. It gives the composition a softer, handwritten texture.
