Sinfra is a town in the centre-west of Ivory Coast, in a landscape of farmland, plantations and remaining patches of forest. It is the administrative seat of its department and a market centre for the surrounding villages. On a map the town is compact: a core of streets from which the main roads lead outward toward neighbouring settlements.
The surrounding area is agricultural, and as in much of this part of the country, cocoa and other crops are grown across the region. From above, the town is framed by an irregular patchwork of fields, tracks and woodland. Small streams run through the landscape, and unpaved roads link the town to villages in every direction.
The street network is simple and easy to follow. The central area around the market and public buildings is denser, and the residential quarters at the edges are looser.
