Sremčica is a suburban settlement in Belgrade's Čukarica municipality, on the southwestern edge of the city. From above it looks quite different from central Belgrade. Instead of apartment blocks and boulevards, the map shows low houses along long residential streets, with gardens and fields between them. The settlement has grown steadily as the city has expanded outward.
Its streets follow the gentle rise and fall of the land, forming a loose network rather than a strict grid. Main roads connect it to neighbouring suburbs and toward the city centre, while side streets branch off into newer residential pockets. At the edges, the houses give way to farmland.
