Al Qurnah Map Poster & Print
Al Qurnah lies in Basra Governorate in southern Iraq, where the Tigris and Euphrates meet. The town sits on the tongue of land between the two rivers, and that confluence shapes the whole map. Two broad waterways approach from the north and west and join to form the Shatt al-Arab, with streets, date palm groves and roads laid out along their banks.
The town is traditionally associated with the Garden of Eden. A tree at the riverside, known as Adam's Tree, has long been shown to visitors as a symbol of that story. The Mesopotamian Marshes lie nearby, a landscape of reeds and water that has shaped life in the region for thousands of years.
An Al Qurnah map poster is one of the clearest images of river geography anywhere: two historic rivers becoming one. The town, bridges and roads fill the land between them, and the water continues south toward Basra and the Gulf. It carries real meaning for people from southern Iraq and for readers of ancient history.

Shatt al-Arab
Below the confluence, the combined river flows south toward Basra as the Shatt al-Arab. Its wide single channel leads the eye out of the frame.
Palm-lined banks
Date palm plantations and small settlements line the riverbanks. They give the edges of the water a fine, textured pattern on the map.
