Low-rise housing carpets
Rows of courtyard houses and terraces form repeating rectangular blocks. From above they look almost like a woven pattern, very different from typical suburban streets.

Albertslund Map Poster & Print
Albertslund, west of Copenhagen, was built mostly in the 1960s and 1970s as a planned town. It is known in Danish architecture for its dense low-rise housing, laid out in long carpets of courtyard houses and terraces, and for a path network that keeps pedestrians and cyclists separate from car traffic.
That planning shows clearly from above. Residential areas form repeating rectangular patterns, cut through by footpaths and cycle routes that cross the ring roads on bridges and underpasses. The railway station and town centre sit near the middle, and the large planted woodland of Vestskoven spreads along the northern side, softening the edges with trees and open meadows.
An Albertslund map poster suits residents, architects and planners who admire Danish post-war housing, and families who grew up among its courtyards. The repeating housing pattern, the paths and the forest edge make it one of the most graphic suburban maps in Scandinavia.

Separated path network
Footpaths and cycle routes run through the town apart from the roads, crossing them on bridges and tunnels. They add a second, finer layer of lines to the map.
Vestskoven woodland
The planted forest to the north forms a broad green edge with winding trails and open clearings. It frames the geometric town with softer shapes.

De ce Albertslund
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
Albertslund is a case study in how a town can be designed around daily life. A print suits an architect's studio, a planner's office or a family home, where the pattern itself becomes the decoration.
Set the title and subtitle in Danish or English, keep the coordinates and choose one of five styles. Blueprint suits the planning story especially well. Download for $9, or order a framed matte print from a European partner.
