Vorgebirge slope
The low ridge west of Bonn gives Alfter its orientation. Roads climb gently from the Rhine plain, and the village cores sit along its flank in a loose north–south line.

Alfter Map Poster & Print
Alfter is less a single town than a string of former villages, among them Alfter itself, Oedekoven, Gielsdorf, Impekoven and Witterschlick, laid along the eastern flank of the Vorgebirge, the low ridge that rises west of Bonn. On a map the settlements appear as separate clusters joined by country roads, with open farmland between them and the denser street pattern of Bonn pushing up against the municipality's eastern boundary.
The land between the villages is what defines the area. The Vorgebirge has long been a market-garden district, and its fields of vegetables and fruit show up as broad pale rectangles on a monochrome print, crossed by field paths and the occasional orchard. Toward the south the farmland gives way to the Kottenforst, a large woodland whose straight forest rides cut clean lines through the trees.
Alfter is also home to Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences, which gives this quiet municipality an unexpected creative accent. An Alfter map poster captures that mix of small village centres, working fields and the edge of a city, a composition that reads more like a patchwork than a plan, and one that residents recognise immediately by the line of the ridge.

Separate village cores
Oedekoven, Gielsdorf, Impekoven and Witterschlick each keep their own knot of streets, so the map shows several small centres rather than one dense core.
Kottenforst edge
To the south the fields meet the Kottenforst, where long straight forest paths form a faint geometric grid that contrasts with the irregular village lanes.

De ce Alfter
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
People who live in one of Alfter's villages, study at Alanus or commute into Bonn often want a map that shows the whole municipality rather than a single street. Framed, it becomes a record of a particular corner of the Rhineland, and the title can name your own village instead of the municipality.
You can add a subtitle with a date, such as a move or a graduation year, and choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The HD digital files cost $9 in six print sizes, or you can order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
