Planned housing areas
Residential districts follow regular grids of streets and plots, many laid out to house mine workers, and they form the densest pattern on the map.

Chambishi Map Poster & Print
Chambishi lies in Zambia's Copperbelt Province, between the larger towns of Kitwe and Chingola. From above, the town shows a mix of planned residential areas with regular streets and the broad, irregular shapes of mining land nearby. Roads run out towards the neighbouring towns, and patches of bush and farmland fill the spaces between the settled areas.
Chambishi grew around copper mining, the industry that defines the whole region. In more recent years it has also become known for an economic zone developed with Chinese investment, linked to copper processing and related industry. These activities have shaped the town's layout, with industrial sites occupying large areas on the edges of the residential core.
A Chambishi map poster brings together the street grid of the town and the wide, open forms of the mine area. The result is a strong graphic contrast between dense housing and large empty spaces, a portrait of a working town in the heart of Zambia's copper country.
