Curving street pattern
Residential roads loop and bend in long arcs, ending in cul-de-sacs. From above they form an intricate, almost decorative design typical of 1960s planned communities.

Deltona Map Poster & Print
Deltona began in 1962 as a planned community developed by the Mackle brothers' Deltona Corporation, which sold lots to buyers across the United States. The town incorporated as a city in 1995. From above, the result is unmistakable: curving residential streets, cul-de-sacs and gently looping roads laid out across rolling sandy land, with almost no rigid grid.
Small lakes are scattered throughout the city, and the street pattern bends around each of them, so the map is full of rounded voids ringed by houses. To the south, the city meets the broad water of Lake Monroe on the St. Johns River. Interstate 4 runs along the western edge, connecting Deltona to Orlando and Daytona Beach.
Deltona is the largest city in Volusia County by population, yet it has no traditional downtown. A Deltona map poster shows what makes it distinctive: a landscape of mid-century suburban planning, drawn with the regularity of a pattern book, softened by lakes and pockets of Florida woodland.

Scattered lakes
Dozens of small lakes dot the city, each surrounded by rings of streets and houses. On the poster they read as clean, rounded shapes set into the dense suburban fabric.
Lake Monroe
The city's southern edge reaches Lake Monroe, a wide section of the St. Johns River, which provides a large open expanse of water at the bottom of the map.
