Valley-floor centre
The town centre occupies a level strip of land beside a river. Streets are packed closely where the valley allows and thin out as the ground rises.

Ishikawa Map Poster & Print
Ishikawa is a town in the southern part of Fukushima Prefecture, in the western foothills of the Abukuma Highlands. The map shows a compact town centre on the valley floor. Roads follow rivers and streams through a landscape of wooded hills, rice paddies and scattered hamlets, and forest covers much of the town's area.
The town is well known among mineral collectors in Japan. Pegmatite deposits in the surrounding hills have produced a wide range of mineral specimens, and the area is often cited in Japanese mineralogy. That geological reputation sits alongside the ordinary rhythm of a rural town, where farming and small industry shape daily life.
An Ishikawa map poster emphasises how the town fits into its valley. The built-up area forms a modest cluster, and the streets thin out toward the edges. The rest of the frame is given over to country roads that climb and curve through the hills toward neighbouring villages and farms. It is a restrained, balanced composition.

Abukuma foothills
Forested hills fill much of the frame, crossed only by narrow roads. This gives the poster large calm areas around the settled valley.
Paddies and hamlets
Rice fields line the smaller valleys, and farmhouses gather in hamlets along the roads, adding small points of detail across the countryside.

De ce Ishikawa
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
Ishikawa is the kind of town people leave for Koriyama or Tokyo and keep thinking about. A map of its valley holds that memory in a simple form, and it pairs well with wood, paper and plain walls.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with the name of a family home or the year you left. Choose one of five styles. The digital download includes 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files in six sizes, with no watermark.
