Jaén Map Poster & Print
Jaén is a city in the Cajamarca region of northern Peru, on the Amazonian side of the Andes in the wider Marañón basin. Unlike many Andean towns, it sits relatively low, in a warm valley, and on a map it appears as a compact street grid spreading along the valley floor with steep, folded ground rising around it.
The surrounding province is one of Peru's major coffee-growing areas, and the city serves as a market and service centre for farms in the hills. Roads leave the valley following the contours, heading toward the coast and further into the Amazon region, and their twisting lines contrast with the straight blocks in town.
A Jaén map poster captures this setting: a regular Spanish-style grid in the centre, newer neighbourhoods climbing the edges of the valley, and the watercourses that run through the basin. It is a portrait of a working mountain town rather than a postcard, and all the more personal for that.

Valley setting
The city fills the bottom of a warm valley, and its edges stop where the ground begins to climb steeply into the hills.
Winding mountain roads
Roads leave the town in long curves that follow the terrain, clearly different from the straight blocks of the centre.

De ce Jaén
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
Jaén is home to coffee growers, traders and many families who moved to Lima or abroad. The map keeps the shape of the valley and the town's streets together in one clean image.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be written as you like, in Spanish or English, and the five styles range from Classic black & white and Noir to the warmer Paper and Sand or the technical Blueprint.
