Lake Kivu shore
Bays, inlets and small peninsulas give the western edge of the map a detailed, irregular coastline, with the lake itself as a wide, open field.

Kagano Map Poster & Print
Kagano is an area of Nyamasheke District in Rwanda's Western Province, set on the hills above Lake Kivu. It has no single dense centre. Homes, schools and small trading points are spread along ridges and roads, following the high ground between valleys that drop toward the water. On a map the settlement is a network of curving lines rather than blocks.
The lakeshore here is deeply indented, with bays and peninsulas pushing into Kivu, and the poster shows that edge in fine detail. The slopes are farmed intensively, and tea, coffee and food crops cover much of the land. A Kagano map poster captures that closely worked landscape, where almost every hillside carries a path or a field boundary.
Roads in this part of Rwanda rarely run straight. They wind around hills, switch back on steep ground and follow ridgelines for long stretches, which gives the map a flowing, almost hand-drawn quality. With the lake filling one side of the sheet and the hills the other, Kagano makes a calm, balanced composition.

Ridge roads
Roads follow the tops of ridges and curve around valleys, creating long, flowing lines that give the whole poster its sense of movement.
Terraced slopes
Hillsides are farmed right to the top, and paths and field edges trace the contours, adding a fine texture to the land between the roads.

De ce Kagano
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
Kagano is home to many families across Nyamasheke, and a map of its hills and shoreline makes a personal keepsake. You can set your own title, add a name or date in the subtitle, and keep or change the coordinates line.
Paper and Sand bring out the warmth of the hills, Blueprint and Noir emphasise the lake, and Classic black & white is the most neutral choice. Print partners in more than 30 countries ship matte posters, with an optional wooden frame.
