Kinzan Map Poster & Print
Kinzan, today usually written as Geumsan, is the main town of Geumsan County in the south-eastern corner of Chungcheongnam-do. It occupies a basin surrounded by forested mountains, and on a map the built-up area fills the valley floor in a compact shape, with roads following the gaps between ridges and farmland stretching along the lower slopes and stream beds.
The town is known across Korea for ginseng. Geumsan has long been one of the country's main centres for growing and trading the root, with a large ginseng market in town and an annual festival devoted to it. The Geum River winds through the county, and the rugged peaks of Daedunsan rise along its western edge.
A Kinzan map poster is defined by the landscape as much as by the town. Streets gather in the valley, then taper off as the mountains close in, leaving broad white areas around the centre. The result is a clear, grounded composition in which the shape of the settlement tells you immediately how the land around it lies.

Ginseng market streets
The ginseng trade is concentrated around the market streets in the centre, the commercial heart of the town and the place where a major share of Korea's ginseng changes hands.
Mountain roads
Roads leave town through gaps in the ridges, following streams and valleys toward neighbouring counties, so the lines at the edges of the map curve gently with the terrain.
