Lucan Map Poster & Print
Lucan lies on the western edge of Dublin, where the River Liffey flows east through a wooded valley toward the city. The original village sits in the valley bottom beside the river, with its old stone bridge and weir, while the modern suburb spreads up the slope to the south in a wide area of housing estates, schools and shopping centres.
Lucan House, an eighteenth-century country house that serves as the residence of the Italian ambassador, stands in its demesne next to the village. The Griffeen River runs north through the suburb to join the Liffey, and a linear park follows much of its course. The N4 passes between the old village and the newer districts, a clear dividing line on the map.
A Lucan map poster shows both sides of the place. Toward the top of the frame, the Liffey and the village follow the curve of the valley; below, the estates form dense patterns of crescents and cul-de-sacs, with the green corridor of the Griffeen between them. It is a portrait of a village absorbed by a growing city without losing its outline.

Griffeen Valley Park
A long green corridor follows the Griffeen River north through the suburb. On the poster it forms a winding band of open space among the housing estates.
N4 dividing line
The N4 runs across Lucan from west to east, separating the old village from the newer districts. Its broad line gives the composition a strong horizontal axis.

De ce Lucan
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
Lucan is home to many families who moved out from Dublin city, and to others whose roots in the village go back generations. A map of its streets, with the Liffey along the top, is an easy way to mark a first home or a long connection.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with an estate name or a year, adjust the coordinates, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A3 and A2 are among the six sizes included in the $9 digital download.
